Eastwick & Gilston Parish Plan

Your Parish Council has encouraged a group of people within the parish to get together to think about the needs of the parish and how it should evolve.  This group is called the Parish Plan Steering Group – we need to have your views and comments – we will contact residents and local businesses!

We sent a letter to residents during the summer advising that we hoped to hold a public meeting this autumn. We have note done so because of the slow progress by the East of England Assembly in resolving the regional Plan. This is fundamental to what sort of community we will become, if Harlow North is allowed it will be very different from the sort of ‘rural’ community we currently have.

We are working up a parish survey and are reviewing whether we can get expert help to draft this.  We will still need volunteers to distribute and collect the forms so please offer to help.

By way of a recap we are looking to consider three main areas:-

Our local ‘pockets of beauty’

What and where are they?

How can they be protected and/OR enhanced?

What are the things we might want to change/opportunities for change?

Building our community

We are a small community and spread our between Eastwick, Pye corner, Gilston Park and other locations. What can we do to enhance our community links?

Do we make new residents welcome?

Do we integrate with the businesses in our community?

Services provided for us

We are customer for many services – are they delivering what we want?
The Police, health, schools, waste etc.

BUT what do you think?

Your community will change considerably over the next few years
everyone else’s views have been sought.
The Parish Plan provides the opportunity for you to make your views known.

Please help us have a voice!

We will post the minutes of our meetings on the Parish web site.
